The Bargaining Unit definition includes: Graduate Assistants (including Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, Service Assistants, and Engagement Assistants) Student Assistants, and Fellows enrolled in graduate programs.
Regular, full-time University employees, regardless of whether they are enrolled in a graduate program, are not part of AGWA/ÐÓ°É´«Ã½W.

Update: April 30, 2024
On April 30, 2024, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ reached a tentative agreement on a full contract with AGWA. Details can be found below or by clicking here. The agreement must be approved by AGWA members and the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Board of Regents, and will then be forwarded to the Alaska Department of Administration for approval. ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ has also submitted a funding amendment for the legislature to consider for inclusion in the budget for Fiscal Year/Academic Year 2025, which begins on July 1, 2024.

University of Alaska and graduate student union reach tentative 3-year contract agreement

The contract terms are July 1, 2024, through December 31, 2026.
